just shoot....

3 days left to Montreal and I already know I am going to miss this place. For anyone who is involved in photography, places such as Mexico are just a paradise. The colors, the people, the culture, even the food which got me addicted to "queso con chorizo".

continuation of personal project

The more I shoot, the more I understand. As I am working on this personal project I realize that understanding is not always easy as it looks like, it's not always black and white. This sport that you call boxing, to some, is not only a sport, but a ticket to get out .

As I go from gyms to gyms, two things always take over, their motivation which you can see by the sweat on the floor, and the sharp look in their eyes.

contrast of reality...

Contrast on a boat, between the visitors and a woman who goes to work...

The economy of Quintana Roo province mostly relies and depends on tourism. Thousounds of Mexican from all over the country leave their homes to migrate in this province where jobs are in high demand. From hotels, to restaurants, travel guides, construction, taxi drivers, the possibilities of earning a decent salary are very promising.

Fight Night...

Back in Mexico, and back to what I started in August... Mexican boxers.

On friday, feb 5th 2010, I joined a local boxer "El Gallito" from Playa Del Carmen, and head by bus to Cancun, where a fight was scheduled against a boxer going by "Samurai".

The fights were taken place in the Taxis syndicate building, a crowd of 300 to 500 spectateurs was estimated since few fights were scheduled that same night.

The following is a glance of that night, more images can be found on my website soon.
